Description: I was on the boat on Friday in Barnegat Bay with Capt Al Zalata from A2Z Fish and Captain Mike Corblies Director of the American Fly Fishing School. Captain Al knows Barnegat Bay better than anyone, and Mike Corblies has been fly fishing saltwater from the beginning with all of the other pioneers from the sport. With these two "Old Salts" on the boat I knew I was going to learn a thing or two about a thing or two. They did not disappoint. The first thing on the adjenda was to catch and film some Weakfish. Most of the reports being given say that the Weakies are moved out for the season. Wrong. It took us about an hour to find where they were hiding. We consistently found Weakies in the 4-5 pound class for an hour or two in two different spots. We all got some and it was a blast. We also caught some three pound Racer Blues which are a handful on an 8wt and super fun. When the Weakies shut down we went in search of the Stripers. This did not happen because of Friday’s storms
